Today, we gathered with heavy hearts to say farewell to a young man whose life, though far too short, made a lasting impact on @YoungJamaicaJLP and others.
Farewell, Imru. Thank you for your service, friendship, passion, and your example.
May you rest in eternal peace.
Everyone has an opinion about deportees.
The harder question is this:
What should a small island state do when saying no to a superpower comes at a cost?
My substack this week explores the difficult calculations Caribbean governments face when principle, diplomacy, and national interest collide.

Perhaps I’m missing something, but does the country have a complete and true picture of the Opposition Leader’s assets and financial interests? Public accountability should be applied consistently, regardless of political affiliation. Before calling for others to be removed from office, it may be worth ensuring that the same level of scrutiny can be comfortably applied to oneself.
Sit this one out hypocrite.
Didnt Mia Motley position herself on the global stage as an environmental champion....with her Jamaican fans framing Holness as the opposite. Hilarious. Happy for Bjans still. Region needs a break

$14.2 Million Dollars a year.. approximately $893,000 per month for them to come up with creative ways to get mentioned in the media every week.
The speech was clearly performative like everything else they do.
The rest of us have to be productive to be paid a salary. Perhaps they pay bonuses over by the PNP for who can be most disruptive in parliament.

In today’s Jamaica Observer, I examine the recurring treatment of women in political leadership.
The attacks on Speaker Juliet Holness @JulietHolness did not begin with her. Portia Simpson Miller @PSimpsonMiller Lisa Hanna @LisaHannamp , and Kamina Johnson Smith @kaminajsmith all faced the same pattern in different forms.
Different women. Same playbook.

MP Browne-Burke’s behavior is akin to getting a red card and staying on the field. Even if yuh tink the ref wrong yuh muss lef di field. The Speaker made a hash of the procedure at 1st until finally a motion was moved by the House Leader.
It honestly was amateur hour in the House. The PNP is leaderless!
Andrew Holness will become the longest serving Prime minister in the history of Jamaica serving 15 years of economic development, beating PJ Patterson who 14 years , which was characterized by was recurring corruption, mismanagement and economic collapse. FINSAC !!!

His @JamaicaPNP track record of shame, scandal and corruption continues with @MarkJGolding
