Thanks to the Equal Status Act 2000, breastfeeding moms in Ireland are entitled to feed their babies anytime, anywhere. Happy breastfeeding in public day! https://t.co/NFWg1Udfbp
Over 100 primary school children from Gaelscoileanna in Dublin 2, 4, 6 and 8 gathered outside the Dáil this morning demanding a Gaelcholáiste be established in their school area so they can access an Irish language secondary education

Amárach beidh na páistí inár nGaelscoileanna ag glacadh páirte i gcomórtais peile lena chéile. Tá siad ar bís!
Níl sa spórt ach ceann de na gnéithe de shaol na scoile a bhfuil súil againn go mbainfidh ár bpáistí taitneamh as le chéile sa Ghaelcholáiste i mBÁC 2468.

An mbeidh do pháiste ag tosú i nGaelscoil go luath?
A nice article outlining what to expect when your child is starting their journey in a Gaelscoil!

Since 3 July 2023, breastfeeding moms are entitled to take breastfeeding breaks from
work up to their baby’s 2nd birthday. Great news for public health in Ireland. @LaLecheIreland @BainneBeatha@bflgireland@FriendsofBF See government press release here. https://t.co/CdIdlWdnxt
For the little ones starting school in September, the libraries are giving each child a lovely bag of books (you choose whether in English or as Gaeilge) to mark their starting school milestone. Lovely initiative https://t.co/rDQo2br99E
GRMA @chrisandrews64.
Coláiste Íosagáin and Coláiste Eoin are at capacity and it is incredibly unrealistic to expect the children especially those from BÁC 2 to travel to Rathfarnham for school.
The solution is a gaelcholáiste in BÁC 2,4,6,8 to serve BÁC 2,4,6,8.
The Act also contains a wide range of other improvements to work-life balance for parents and carers such as the right to request flexible working for caring purposes, the right to request remote working, to entitle certain employees to leave for medical care purposes, etc.
Delighted to see this bill was signed into law on 4 April 2023. The “Work Life Balance and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2023” (the “Act”) is a welcome addition to our statute books.
The Work Life Balance & Miscellaneous Provisions Bill 2022 was approved by the Oireachtas on 29/03/2023.When signed into law,it will enhance existing protections under section 15B of the Maternity Protection Acts 1994 (inserted by s.9 of Maternity Protection (Amendment) Act 2004)
Once s.34 of the Act is commenced, anyone breastfeeding their baby & returning to employment after maternity leave is entitled to paid breastfeeding breaks (up to 1 hour per day or pro-rata equivalent) until the baby turns 2.@LaLecheIreland @BainneBeatha@bflgireland@FriendsofBF
There are 200,000 living in D2468. There is ample demand for a Gael Choláiste. We have been asking for years. What are we waiting for? Gael Cholaiste for D2468 comh luath is feidir le do thoil. https://t.co/g5Dh848ZNf
@NormaFoleyTD1 - it is against the government policy of the 15 minute city and against the government’s safe route to school policy https://t.co/kJjWlBkSAN for children to spend more than 1 hour commuting to school. This is what is proposed for children living in D2468 . Not ok
Met @Gaelcholaiste2 campaign & the 100+ students from junior infants to 6th class who came to the Dáil today to call for the establishment of a Gaelcholáiste in the D2,4,6,8 area. I'll continue to follow up with Minister @NormaFoleyTD1 in the near future.

@NormaFoleyTD1 - táimíd fós ag fanacht le Gael Choláiste nua i BAC D2468. Níl aon áit eile sa tír le 200,000 daoine gan aon Gael Choláiste. Le do thoil. Chuir ceann ar fáil anois.
"Tá 5 Ghaelscoil, atá lonnaithe sa scoilcheantar BÁC 2, 4, 6, 8, ag éileamh ar an Aire Oideachais @NormaFoleyTD1 cinneadh a dhéanamh, gan a thuilleadh moille nó leithscéal ar bith eile, Gaelcholáiste a bhunú inár scoilcheantar." - Victoria McQuaid, Príomhoide
