Kansas City dumped tens of millions of taxpayer dollars into a heavily subsidized “community” grocery store to fix the food desert and give everyone what they wanted.

The result? Empty shelves, rotting food, a disgusting smell, and the store shut down for good.

Why did it fail?

Because you don’t work for free.
Farmers don’t grow food for free.
Truck drivers don’t deliver for free.
Store owners, clerks, and cleaners don’t show up for free either.
