@JimBethell I don’t remember cabin crew doing an accelerated course to piloting being an acceptable broadening of skill base in another safety critical industry
The strain that caused the death of two students in Kent has been confirmed to be MenB. The MenB vaccine was first offered to young children in the UK in 2015 at 8 weeks, 12 weeks and one year. Hence, current university students will not generally have received the vaccine.
@bswud Sounds like he was seen by ED? Wonder if he had been referred directly to the surgical team by the GP or not. GP “referral” notes often never make it to A&E which is a deeply frustrating and dangerous part of the process when primary care clinicians tell patients to “go to A&E”

I’m an NHS consultant. I am a medically qualified, fully-trained expert in one specialty, and can call a friend who is an expert in any another. My job and income are secure. (1/8)
A report on the interest paid on student loans. As Sophy Ridge says, its staggering.
To people who say we can't afford to scrap student loans or write off the debt (we can), why can't the loans be made interest free?
@davehartin Most of us are happy to make a cuppa, grab a sandwich, push them to scan (although usually when the porters see all 4’11 of me wrestling a trolley they offer to take over). I don’t consider sorting out a paper jam “fixing IT issues”. It comes across self righteous.
