once upon a time everyone believed they wanted new ip but sales say otherwise. i also think that xbox is mostly going to lean on halo, gears, minecraft, overwatch, warcraft, doom, fallout, etc.
sony will be doing the same thing, keeping the focus on the last of us, uncharted, and ghost of tsushima/yotei. horizon is already getting this treatment, but the franchise lacks the market power hermen hulst attributes to it to successfully carry multiple spin offs.
take two ceo strauss zelnick keeps reminding everyone that you can't just make good games anymore, you need massive quality hits to even get noticed in this endless sea of content.
hopefully we as consumers will actually benefit from that quality, but it sucks that it comes at the cost of brutal layoffs that push away the actual talent you need to make those high quality games, while at the same time discourages new folks entering the industry.
As Asha & Matt reportedly look to double-down on big franchises at Xbox, I'll reiterate my plea for them to let other studios, internal & external, make unique Halo games, like Games Workshop w/Warhammer or Disney w/Star Wars.
Halo shouldn't be dormant for 5+ years at a time.
For anyone that purchased Marathon Deluxe Edition at the reduced $14 rate after adding the trial, you'll need to attempt to request a refund https://t.co/L1HIumTNmF
Seems like they added a description and now states Deluxe Edition purchases during Open Play Week only gives the add-ons, not the game
@ShiinaBR in the consumer corporate world, when you dont like something just shut up and vote with your wallet, but if you actually like something, say it, because thats going to make some creatives day.
@ZhugeEX accurate. i started out on single player campaigns and arena shooters but now find myself wasting hours on f2p grinds. sucks because standalone gems like 007 are only getting rarer from here on out.
tldr;
it's thread about a dude that tries to give value to these slop accounts that just pollute the net with constant noise.
they can signal boost since they have a big following, but those followers were attracted by posting stolen content and adding a vague one-liner at best, with the only goal of tricking the system for easy gains while the follower gets zero value out of it, and because this constant noise is occupying the timeline and everyone's personal time they're actually missing out on better content.
if this actually kills the incentive for these noise makers to keep slopping up the timeline i am all for it.
Important clarification: the account that posted the “original video” on X is not the original creator or owner of that content, Anastasia is. The account you’re calling the “original” post is itself another aggregator that reposted someone else’s content as their own.
So to be very clear: neither Mario nor Context2x created or own this video, and neither should or will earn Revenue Share for it. Being the first account to repost someone else’s content on X does not make that account the original creator.
Accounts are still free to post content they didn’t create, and can monetize that in other ways if they want to. But Revenue Sharing is specifically designed to reward original, value-add content, content that gives people a reason to follow an account and keep coming back because they expect something unique from that creator, not recycled IP.
@tomwarren apple messed up the implementation on liquid glass, but i’m glad they pushed design past that flat dullness we had everywhere for over a decade
