Batching shipments to pick in a warehouse efficiently is one of the best levers to improve your warehouse ops.

But, creating good batches has always required converting your ideas into batching rules or code or API calls.

That should not be a thing in the agentic era.

You can now write your batching preferences as plain English instructions:

- "Multi-item shipments go in batches of no more than 25, grouped by picking zone so pickers walk the floor once."
- "Anything over 18 kg goes in a Heavy batch, never mixed."
- "Hold anything with a missing weight in a Needs attention batch instead of guessing."

Then you test it before it touches anything. The test shows you:

- Where each shipment will land if the batches were created
- The differences with the current live version

You can then choose to promote the new draft as the live version. Not working well, you can move back to a previous version.

While we will maintain rule builders for a while, my view is that they are a thing of the past. Shopify's flow or Fulfil's automation rules are a legacy workaround and design pattern, which AI makes obsolete.
