Did you know??
After the sandpaper gate incident in March 2018 Steve Smith was so mentally broken down that he was intending to retire from professional cricket for good and settle down in the USA with his then girlfriend at the time Dani Willis. He wanted to be out of the public eye and never be spoken off again.
Thankfully, his dad Mr Peter Smith who played a huge part on making him represent Australia when he was eligible to play for England thanks to his mother being English convinced him not to make such a stupid decision and instead dumped his cricket kit in his garage saying these six words ' YOU'LL BE FINE, YOU WILL SURVIVE'.
Not many are fortunate enough to have such caring and understanding parents who support you in your tough times. One can only imagine what Steve Smith's career would've been if he didn't have such supportive parents by his side.
This is the only time Mr Peter Smith ever made a public appearance in front of the media.
Not every legend is loud. Some are remembered for their silence.
Some players are remembered for their records. Others are remembered for the way they made the game feel. Kane Williamson belongs to the second category.

Better than Steve Smith it seems eh? 😂😂
Joe Root is blessed that he has got to play majority of his career on flat decks at home and accumulated so many volume of runs in his career.
Steve Smith is Dale Steyn who has had impact everywhere.
Joe Root is James Anderson who has had longevity.
That's why Anderson is never rated over Steyn and Root is never rated over Smith.
