As you grow older, life humbles you. You stop chasing the big things and start appreciating the little onesโtime alone, restful sleep, good food, long walks, and moments with loved ones. In the end, simplicity is the greatest luxury.
Investors hate to see other investors make money in things they don't own/believe in. When you genuinely don't care, it can be a superpower. You don't get distracted holding in that negative energy and it frees you up to focus on what you're doing/expanding your own circle of competence.
You canโt say โIโm going to hold this stock for 5-10-20 yearsโ. The truth is 1-2 out of 10 stocks you own will deserve to be held 5+ years and you have no idea which ones they are today even though you think you do. Those 1-2 sustainable winners will evolve in ways you could have never predicted. The others will have much shorter shelf lives or not live up to your expectations. This means selling plays a much bigger role than most want to admit. Stock picking means picking winners but also picking out the losers in your portfolio and replacing them. Long-term is an intention, not an absolute. Your intention is to hold as long as management executes. It could be 3 months or 30 years. Most companies will only deserve to be rented. Ownership is earned. Long-term is not an excuse to be lazy. Long-term doesn't mean inactive. You will be very active.

Either you are getting better or you are getting worse, you are not staying the same!
If you got to the top of the mountain you were climbing, make sure you immediately start looking for yet another mountain to climb!
Stay hard!
โYou must buy on the way down. There is far more volume on the way down than on the way up, and far less competition among buyers. It is almost always better to be too early than too late, but you must be prepared for price markdowns on what you buy.โ
--- Seth Klarman
There is no right time for success.
Our society puts a lot of pressure on young people to succeed in their careers at a young age. Whenever I speak to them, they tell me how they feel like time is running out and they must be successful before their 30s
As someone who has seen many failures in life - not once, not twice, but 9 times - I get it.
Kayi baar disappointment dekha hai, apne best ideas ko reject hote hue bhi dekha hai. From sleepless nights in factories on verge of closure to thinking about next dayโs survival.. I struggled a lot in my 20s and 30s
After a lot more experience and a little less hair, my first successful start-up came in my 40s. the very ideas that were once called bad started getting praisesโฆ
Believe in your ideas, even when others may doubt them and embrace failures as ladder to successโฆturtle ki story hamesha yaad rakhna. Slow and steady wins the race.
If you are struggling in your 20s or 30s, just remember, picture abhi baaki hai dostonโฆ
