@WhistleblowingT I was floored by Covid not long ago. I ended up getting a fitnote from the doctor so I didn’t have to call in every morning 🫣
I was actually able to relax and recover better without worrying about making that call

After 20 years in the classroom I’ve not just considered leaving, I’ve actually spent time this half term writing a non-teaching CV and looking at/applying for jobs outside education.

@liam66035 @LewisT_ @UnofficialOA Teachers are forbidden from leaving a class/children at break & lunch unsupervised therefore can’t go if there’s no other staff members around. Happens more than you think. Lack of supervision is also the thing stopping the children being able to go.

@liam66035 @LewisT_ @UnofficialOA In secondary there is no additional lunch and break time assistants. Teachers staff the duties. Better funding and more staffing in schools is needed so EVERYONE can have breaks when needed! My point is it shouldn’t be a problem for anyone in a school!

@liam66035 @LewisT_ @UnofficialOA Teachers are forbidden using the toilet too. Is it ok for them to develop hyponatraemia as a result of “holding it in” because there’s not enough staff to look after the children whilst they go? This includes break & lunch btw as students must still be supervised!

@MGreenw00d @DSLteacher @HeroicMrT We have similar strategies but wider staff are not consistent with the follow up due to the volume of poor conduct in some classes. It simply isn’t manageable some days. A detention room. That would be a game changer!

@RogersHistory Currently 4. 2 at KS3 and 2 different ones at KS4. I have 6 different KS4 subjects in my department, because of new specs for 4 of them this year I’m managing / IV 10 different specs 🤯
