ANONYMOUS? Lately, there's been a lot of uproar about anonymous X accounts like mine. Folks like Luke Zaleski (editor for a travel magazine) and Mark Cuban (billionaire) seem to think we shouldn’t be allowed to share our opinions on this platform unless we use our real names. But honestly, I don’t even know who Luke is, and just because he works for a travel magazine, does that automatically make him credible? On X, credibility is earned, not given. When I make a mistake or share something that turns out to be wrong, I correct it—whether by editing, deleting, or updating in a thread. Meanwhile, there are still false stories circulating from big outlets like WaPo, NYT, and Newsweek. I do my best to correct the record in real-time. My reputation on X is tied to @amuse, just as Luke’s is tied to @ZaleskiLuke. Whether he works for Condé Nast or for himself, his credibility depends on what he posts here.

At the end of the day, @elonmusk has made it clear that everyone is welcome on X, whether they use their real name or a pseudonym. I stopped sharing my real name after Antifa rioters threw a Molotov cocktail at my front porch because of something I posted on Twitter. They even harassed my employer and organizations where I served on the board.
