@VGarnsey18 @ElissaMMonteiro I agree! Athletes should have the opportunity to focus on their professional careers after college. Sports only last for 4 years while their careers last a lifetime. #ucr150@ElissaMMonteiro
Athletes should be able to prioritize academics rather than spent 40+ hours on the field and not get compensated. College athletics only last 4 years while your degree is forever. #ucr150@ElissaMMonteiro

@jcastrodeleon @ElissaMMonteiro Totally agree! The NCAA needs to change in order for athletes to benefit from playing their sport. If they really cared for their athletes, they would listen to their demands. #ucr150@ElissaMMonteiro
Many lawsuits have been filed against the NCAA. This shows that there must be a change with their rules and give more benefits to athletes. They must demonstrate that they care. @ElissaMMonteiro#ucr150 https://t.co/ZfRJAbkSHE
@oshirley5@ElissaMMonteiro I completely agree. More coaches and staff need to be held accountable for limiting athletes of career opportunities. This is not fair! @ElissaMMonteiro
Athletes should be allowed to transfer without so many restrictions. They do not to be limited in their career and should have more freedom in their opportunities. The NCAA needs to stop controlling athletes. #ucr150@ElissaMMonteiro

@moanapisia8@ElissaMMonteiro It's not fair! The NCAA should be held accountable and be more supportive of athletes. They need to stop thinking only about the money and protect athletes. @ElissaMMonteiro
Coaches should have more knowledge of concussions. If athletes weren't afraid of losing their positions, they would report injuries. We need to update these rules so athletes can receive proper treatment. #ucr150@ElissaMMonteiro

@oshirley5@ElissaMMonteiro Yeah! If there was a higher percent of colleges in compliance, I think we would see more equality between men and women athletes. This would allow women to be compensated and awarded the same as men athletes. @ElissaMMonteiro
Title IX seems like it needs some updating because we continue to see men's sports above women's sports. 80% in non-compliance with this law seems like it is not effective in any way. We must increase equality. @ElissaMMonteiro#ucr150

@VGarnsey18 @ElissaMMonteiro I completely agree with you. We should provide more benefits for these athletes who work hard on the field. They are the ones doing the hard work while the institutions just sit back and enjoy the profit. @ElissaMMonteiro
We continue to see how the institutions protect themselves first before their athletes. These non-negotiable contracts strip athletes from pursuing higher education and we continue seeing coaches having full control of athletes. #ucr150@ElissaMMonteiro
@CMHuggyPool @ElissaMMonteiro @CMHuggyPool I completely agree with you. It is not fair that athletes give it their all and gain nothing from it. Without compensation, they are not able to pay for medical bills if they become injured during a game. #ucr150@ElissaMMonteiro
The NCAA only cares about protecting their image even though they are harming college athletes. The NCAA makes billions in profit and keeps it instead of helping. They are exploiting college students and aren't providing the right amount of scholarships. #ucr150@ElissaMMonteiro
