One inapt subeditor error - I ended par4 “Grobler who had grown accustomed to coaching individual crews, incompatible with leading the whole squad” - they’ll have changed it for space reasons. So don’t yell at me for that ‘mistake’!

"I was aware of it but I didn't know how many children are not actually eating meals. It would shock anyone."
@MarcusRashford's special #BlackHistoryMonth boots are inspired by the kids he has helped through his free school meal scheme 👏
@FASBCabingdon@abingdonrowing@abingdonschool A really nice nod to the past, and a cash saving idea, the doors to the Boathouse are from the old concrete garages from the 1980's, compere the images! Touch them when you go past as a nod to the boys that made @abingdonrowing what it is. I always did.
The interesting thing here is the wooden shed on the left is the 1914 boathouse having been moved and rebuilt on the site of the current boathouse. It survived for almost a century, removed for the current boathouse in 2003. You see the modern housing estate in the background.
@oldabingdonians@FASBCabingdon@abingdonschool@AbingdonSport A barn that still stands towards the top end of Wilsham Road, now painted blue. The coach on the pontoon is John T Morland, also chair of the Morland Brewery and a former Cambridge Blue.
@fatsculler@stefanpaetow@hooperwoman Thanks @fatsculler The exact date is not recorded. You can see it was on the boathouse in 1880 and again 1881 as ASRC but by the time "The Abingdonian" began in 1890 it was known as ASBC. You may like to know my great-grandfather H M Digby is stroking that boat.
