@PeteOlusoga @Blackman3002 We canโt repeat it enough:
Saying โAll lives matterโ as a response to BLM supportersโ call for defeating institutional racism, inequalities etc is like going to a Malaria awareness medical conference and shouting
โ..but there are other diseases too!โ

I guess this marks the peak, as in, the bottom point, of transatlantic capitalismโs latest moral and political decline.
The next headline might as well be Tony #Blair accepting the title of #viceroy.
Capitalist countries "acting outraged" while continuing to back Israel's right-wingers will be remembered in infamy.
#Capitalism's (so-called) culture of legality once, at least, "hinted"at possible socialist changes.
Now, it just reeks of #genocide#Gaza
One of those clips where you have to make sure you're not hallucinating.
Donald Trump says Palestinians ought not be allowed to return to Gaza because "why would they want to return? That place has been hell" โ next to the grinning man who made it hell
It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them.
While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change.
And theyโre right.
Israel's reputation of "only democracy in the Middle East" having "the most moral army in the world" is over. Not that anyone really believed it: even stones of the UN building in NY know that Israel is an apartheid state that needs, among others, to offer an apology and reparation to millions of Nakba survivors and all those it has tormented and persecuted for decades. And in this darkest hour, I do see hope for Palestinians and Israelis: De-apartheidization, which urges serious effort and investment into healing deep-seated trauma and the wounds of so many.
Even if you ignored the fact that Israel has carried out over 80% of the cross-border attacks between itself and Lebanon in the last year, this statement is still the definition of collective punishment.
Israel can openly declare its war crimes knowing no one will stop them.
We ask our partner that, as the Government of Spain, we bring Netanyahu before the International Criminal Court for war crimes. Here is my official statement ๐
Even if you have committed to a side โ Israel's or the Palestinians' โ you can and should stand back, every now and then, to look at the bigger picture.
There are reasons the West is continuously waging wars, or fuelling them. Think of Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Ukraine, Gaza โ all of them just in the last two decades.
One is because there is *lots* of money to be made from war โ or there is if you belong to the ruling class. There's money in the weapons and technology that make the fighting possible; money in the resources, largely hidden from view, that are being quietly fought over; and money in persuading you and me that we must tighten our belts to support the war effort.
But there's another reason.
If we weren't at war, if a new war wasn't always dominating the headlines and our passions, making us either outraged or fearful for the future, we would have the mental space and energy to think about other things.
Such as how badly our societies are run, how the wealth gap just keeps growing, how incompetent our leaders seem, and how little is being done to solve the biggest problems facing us, like ecological collapse.
If we weren't so convinced that we are the good guys, if we weren't so eager to cheerlead another war, we might start to understand that we are all the same, that we share one planet, that our future hangs on cooperation not conflagration.
Which is precisely why we will always be at war.
This is what career politicians also support:
โLosing land is the price of loss Arabs understandโ ie.
the rightwing horror of warmongering & contempt
Weโll remember these times of apathy & connivance w shame.
