like BL > BG > GL, male characters > female characters. some subconscious urge to make the character they “love” somehow more “valuable,” so reading Mizuki as male just feels more acceptable to them.

This may sound a bit harsh, but honestly, I wouldn’t advise anyone who reads Mizuki as non-cis to put too much trust in creators from the broader East Asian sphere (CN/JP/KR/TH/SG/VN, maybe RU too) if they keep their stance vague and never state it clearly.

@HanaNoFuyu @rules_cats @enaneow Although the post here is by another Japanese artist, ∞kyline/skyline is indeed a supporter of mizuboy (perhaps with a less clear attitude), which is basically well-known in the mizuena circle in China. I am surprised that you don't know this.

If my memory is correct, there are some works of nsfw art that were selectively not posted on Twitter. In the way those works depict mizuki's body, you can speculate on something.
