BIG ANNOUNCEMENT📣: I haven’t been this excited to be part of something new in 15 years… Thrilled to reveal the passion project I’ve been working on for the past year and a half!🙀🥳 It started from my frustration with the depressing effect that the current publishing system has on the well-being of myself, my team, and pretty much every scientist I know (maybe you’ve noticed from my stupid jokes… :) I was exhausted of dealing with the huge delays, reviewers that can be abusive, and how arbitrary it all is. Unfortunately, the most important factors are often WHO your reviewers are and who YOU are... Its clear we need alternatives or at least ways to improve the situation. So, together with a really special and talented team we worked to develop this idea into “qed” a platform where you can get CONSTRUCTIVE feedback on your own work or CRITICALLY assess other people’s papers. It can be a real difference maker if many of you join us (thousands have tried it already, but today we release a NEW and much stronger version ;) Let’s harness qed to put the power back in the scientists’ hands, to do, to read & to publish science on our own terms. I’m dying for you to TRY IT, and it’s very simple - just drop a paper (the link to the website is in the replies👇) - it’s completely secure, private, and free, and you get results fast. Please show your support, SHARE, tell your friends, and let’s be the revolution 🫵!
Lifelong Social Bonds Can Slow Biological Aging at the Cellular Level
A study of more than 2,100 adults reveals that deep, long-term social connections can slow biological aging.
Using epigenetic clocks like GrimAge and DunedinPACE, researchers found that people with strong cumulative social advantage—built from parental warmth, community involvement, faith networks, and ongoing emotional support—showed younger biological profiles.
These individuals also had lower levels of interleukin-6, an inflammatory marker tied to heart disease and neurodegeneration.
The results suggest social life shapes not just mood but cellular health.
Like investing over decades, consistent relationships across life yield long-term biological benefits.
Brain slow waves in sleep follow the most excitable neurons, not anatomy, revealing how rhythm disruptions may spark disorders like epilepsy.

Online Hate Speech Resembles Mental Health Disorder Language
A new study reveals that language used in online hate speech communities closely resembles the speech patterns found in forums related to certain personality disorders.
Using AI and topological data analysis, researchers discovered strong linguistic overlaps with communities focused on borderline, narcissistic, and antisocial personality disorders.
The findings do not suggest that individuals with these disorders are more prone to hate speech.
Instead, they indicate that individuals engaged in hateful discourse tend to use language marked by emotional dysregulation and reduced empathy.
This may reflect the psychological toll of prolonged exposure to toxic environments.
Researchers suggest these insights could inform interventions rooted in therapeutic approaches.
@elonmusk The congestion fees are not great for people who live in apartments and charge their Tesla weekly at superchargers. Stopping the charging at 80% causes more frequent visits to superchargers which will make the super chargers more busy. Please fix this issue.

Next 72hrs - STORM. An X2.8 solar flare was observed yesterday (largest of this solar cycle). The bulk of the associated coronal mass ejection is directed away from Earth, but there is chance of a glancing blow late 16th/early 17th which could result in STORM activity.
🎥 #Livecyte is changing the way neurite outgrowth can be viewed. Not only does it provide high-contrast images, but it also offers precise quantification of this process. Livecyte skeletonises emerging neurites.
