For our Juneteenth release, Lucy (@luvisrage2dIx) returns us to oil-country Texas during the Depression, where hard times have given a whole town its reason to gather. From atop his father's shoulders, a boy watches a festivity that will become his grandson's inheritance—a memory carried for a lifetime, surfacing unbidden, refusing to fade.
"The Stench, the Stench" is a story about the brutal pastime at the heart of the American jubilee, and the way its smell lingers on the living long after the crowd has gone home.

ok, ms. rachel isn’t in any universe a liberal Zionist and you shouldn’t be attacking children’s educators that have been attacked by actual Zionists, it is incredibly stupid and unserious politics. actually it’s not politics at all, it’s idiotic ultra-left terminally online virtue signaling.
“Juneteenth is a reminder that we save ourselves—our ancestors did it. Texas reminded us to celebrate our power, and now it’s time to renew and revive our commitment to our own freedom.”

As we approach the Juneteenth and the U.S.' 250th anniversary we're reminded of Frederick Douglass' famous "What is the the 4th of July to the Slave?" It's a particularly relevant question after the Supreme Court cancelled African American representation in what's likely to be 20 districts in the South. Add to that the Civil Rights Counter Revolution and anti-immigrant pogroms of ICE. And yet throughout it all there's been struggle and resistance by working-class people of all backgrounds, religions and beliefs. And that is surely the basis of multinational pride. Yes, along with the ugly and evil, there's been the beautiful and the good and we remain confident that the latter will win out.

The Communist Party must be a “tribune of the people.”

Moreover, in the course of struggle, the party must continually expose the capitalist roots of the crisis, intervening ideologically and raising class and socialist consciousness, so that the fights for reforms are not mere ends in themselves but the means to the socialist goal.
“A lot of people talk about the sacrifices they made for the movement,” said Roberta Wood, secretary-treasurer of @communistsusa.
“For Bea [Lumpkin], it was never a sacrifice. It was all the joy of the struggle. She was raised to think your job is to make the world better.”

After hundreds of detainees at Newark's Delaney Hall launched a coordinated hunger strike over inhumane conditions and lack of due process, protesters took to the streets—facing off against ICE agents, private police, and mounted state troopers.
But amid the teargas and rubber bullets, a harder question emerged: is this a prepared movement, or a choreographed dance the state already knows the steps to?
Zach H reports from the ground at the "Battle for Delaney Hall,"—and asks what it would really take to win.

We do not say to the world: Cease your struggles, they are foolish; we will give you the true slogan of struggle. We merely show the world what it is really fighting for, and consciousness is something that it has to acquire, even if it does not want to.
Our beloved comrade Bea Lumpkin, a union organizer, civil and women’s rights activist, professor, and active Communist Party USA member since the 1930s, passed away peacefully this past weekend at the age of 107.

Debates like these are great for our movement. We will continue to grow collectively when we challenge each other in healthy critique!
