“I did not expect this day to come when Reem departed, leaving behind only memories and photos. We would always say that separation between us was impossible. We were together in school, but our university specializations separated us, yet our relationship was not affected. We wished we could have been in the same field”
My friend and soulmate "Reem Badawi" has been with me for 6 years. She was a gentle, soft-hearted person with a beautiful soul, and had the ability to make every difficulty seem easy.
Reem and I were not just friends, but more like sisters. She was always advising me, and would lighten the burden of my days and their difficulties. She was a blessing, a special friend, full of positivity and energy.
She dedicated her energy to studying and work, and was always encouraging me to study as well. She was highly ambitious, a practical person, and irreplaceable. Reem loved photography, and we would document all the moments we shared together, always saying that these photos would remain as memories for us.
I met Reem before the start of the war on Gaza. We spent a beautiful day together, talking a lot and planning for the new university semester. She was advising me, as if she knew that would be our last day together. Our last conversation was her asking about my well-being and consoling me for the martyrdom of my family members.
But she quickly departed to heaven, leaving our memories to shatter my heart. Reem has departed from this world, but she has not departed from my heart.

The martyr "Munir Al-Azaizi," aged 43, spent 12 years of his life outside of Gaza in the United Arab Emirates, where he worked with his father in the auto parts business. He developed a passion and love for classic cars during his upbringing.
He was well-known among the people and beloved. He would roam the streets of Gaza in the car that he had repaired, collecting spare parts for vintage cars from all over the Gaza Strip and even from outside the region, despite the blockade. He always aspired to participate in an international exhibition for classic cars.
Unfortunately, war robbed him of his dreams. Munir, along with his son Azaddin, was martyred on December 29th.
The US banned Hawaiian language, overthrew our country, let us die in Maui fires, devastated our universal healthcare, & illegally occupies Hawaii to this day. My mother's hands were broken for speaking Hawaiian in school. The US is not a beacon, but the destroyer of independence
i am so beyond distraught at seeing these people who were so full of life completely lifeless and unrecognisable either because all the colour has drained from their beautiful faces or because they’ve been dismembered beyond recognition. life can’t go on like this.
The martyr "Bahaa Abu Shaqra" was born on March 19, 1999. Bahaa graduated from high school in the practical section and enrolled in "Islamic University" with a specialization in software engineering. He was exceptionally intelligent and alert, well-mannered, calm in nature, and had a rational mind. He was committed to worship, prayers, and voluntary acts of worship. He was always mindful of God, ambitious, and loved to travel.
Bahaa excelled in the field of software development. He mastered several programming languages, including ERPnext, for which he was nominated as one of the platform's most important developers and a significant contributor worldwide. He worked for various software companies operating in the Gaza Strip, which had regional branches in several countries. Bahaa, along with seven members of his family, was martyred in an Israeli airstrike on January 9. May Allah have mercy on them and grant them paradise.
