Liverpool has now reached the level of 80 per 100,000 people testing positive for Covid-19. With the R rate nearing 1.3%. An increase of 100 people in last 24 hrs total now at 410. A real worry and concern that unless we all take this seriously we could face a City Lockdown.
I’m extremely saddened to hear of the passing of local community activist and great friend to many, Abdul Razaq Mossa. My thoughts are with his family, Haitham, Samira, Michele and Abdulkareem. Razaq will be deeply missed ❤️@LArabicCenter
God bless Cllr Richard McLinden. Richard was such a friendly, caring and supportive man. He was Liverpool to the core. He would always stop to chat with me and offer guidance and encouragement. He will be missed by many including his loving wife Barbara and their children. #RIP
Richard was kind, caring, and incredibly dedicated. He was always supportive and generous with his time and advice. A truly decent man and colleague, I will miss him so much.
Very sad news that Abdul Razak Mossa, Chair of @LArabicCenter has died. Razak worked @lpoolcouncil in Careline. We're pictured here at Liverpool Arabic Supplementary School a few years ago.
It was an honour to serve as Angela Rayner's PPS and I thank her for the opportunity, but as a lifelong trade unionist and a campaigner for social justice I could see no rationale for a second abstention. I am still totally committed to campaigning for a Labour government.
I resigned today as a PPS to Angela Rayner in order that I could vote against the #CHISBill in line with my conscience & to stop the abuses that took place against Stephen Lawrence's family & friends, against the Hillsborough fight for justice, against trade unionists.
For Karl Marx, slavery was not a relic from a past society but essential to the development of modern capitalism – and its abolition was essential to the liberation of all people. https://t.co/VtRBGZCSb0
This is a disgraceful move by @PostOfficeNews, who initially had promised to retain this vital centre. It was one of their few remaining Crown offices and we had been working with them for a year before this shock decision. Other Post Offices do not meet the need!

Another U-turn on a careless and cursory government decision.
Congratulations to our students and teachers who fought against the results day injustices.
@GavinWilliamson refusal to acknowledge teachers opinions on marking methods highlights his unsuitability for the job!

Planning for a coordinated system of support across L8.

Ron Odunaiya @OdunaiyaRon, who was @lpoolcouncil's Director of Community Services, died over the weekend. Ron's commitment and dedication to public service was clear to everyone who worked with him. Thoughts to Ron's family, friends and colleagues on this sad day.
