Melika was arrested in January 2026 during nationwide protests and charged with "moharebeh" (waging war against Allah) for allegedly burning Islamic regime symbols.

I thought Katie Zacharia was fine but noticeably nervous on her first briefing. In my opinion she needed to read because there hadn’t been a press briefing in about a month. She just didn’t want to miss any points. I expect her to get more comfortable and better in her new role.
