The Shut Down Sanctuary Policies Act of 2026 (H.R. 7640), introduced earlier this year by Rep. Tom McClintock, has been approved by the House Judiciary Committee.

Among other things, the bill would allow citizens who are harmed by illegals to sue Sanctuary Cities for failing to detain illegals and have not cooperated with ICE.

I like this idea but have no idea if it will ever clear the Senate if it makes it there.
