The French don't look down on the Japanese. France is the second-biggest manga market after Japan and hosts the largest Japanese pop culture convention outside Japan every year. The French, who introduced Japonism to Europe, are likely the most Japanophilic Westerners.
@Montebianco114 You shouldn't jump to such hasty conclusions, nigga. I know the Edo and Meiji eras well, and besides, I even mentioned Japonism, which should make it clear that my interest in Japan isn't limited to anime and manga.

"Japanese nationalist" who didn’t know that Kanji has been introduced to Japanese in the early 5th century.
At least, you could have double-checked before posting. I would definitely have been a better Japanese nationalist than him. Call me デイヴィッド様 from now.
@y9iEt0aybWwGtYd Are you referring to that incident? I understand why it upset some Japanese, but France-Japan relations remain overwhelmingly positive. Most French people hold Japan in high regard and are generally unaware of incidents such as this one.

@y9iEt0aybWwGtYd Ubisoft is unpopular even in France. We're not proud of what they've done. The Paris Olympics were a disgrace to our country's image, but ordinary French people aren't to blame. I hope the Japanese will understand that someday.
@Montebianco114 Appreciating and showing enthusiasm for a culture is not "fetishism". Fetishism means irrationally idealizing something, which the French don't.
@TypeRs500@SlymBarlova The guy you're citing is a black African. Speaking French doesn't mean being a native French person nowadays. Unfortunately, the Japanese don't make the distinction and attack French people, believing they are French.
White people feel increasingly depressed because they must passively adapt to living alongside populations that ruin public spaces and erode trust through theft and scams. Living in a less comfortable, lower-trust society affects mental health and productivity.
