Something worth looking into before scaling this, Thailand’s PDPA requires explicit consent before publishing identifiable photos of people on a public website. Whether it’s a private event (I personally spotted myself in Café Cursor event photos) or a bar, posting unblurred faces without consent could expose ExpatHub to serious legal risk. Enforcement is now active with significant fines
Let's agree to disagree! If every agent runs on the same "great templates", you just get faster homogenization. A brand book makes you competent, not memorable. The real value is having something worth systematizing in the first place
@jogicodes@timbo_xyz I was there at the event and it was great, just like the previous ones. Café Cursor doesn’t happen every month, it’s more like every 2–3 months but all the locations have been great! Like Timbo said, connect with Luis and Kenny who run the event.
I shipped a real product for one of the companies I work for and the experience is great with recent AI models, but early on with Claude 3.4/3.7 things were frustrating as the context window was small. Even now there is still a lot of cleanup to do: untyped variables, useEffect issues, lint warnings, and libraries like TanStack only partially implemented. That said, shipping real products with vibe coding is great but it's a tool, and distribution is still and always will be the real pain point.
I did this for fun recently. It's a modern social pint game built around one simple obsession: how perfectly you can land the foam line through the Guinness G. Web app also ported to mobile with Expo. Uses computer vision with @roboflow https://t.co/bOIpzccpL4
I also run a private limousine service in Japan and built the full stack myself: fleet management system, driver app, customer app and booking website. https://t.co/3cT9FdFwdn
Most expats don't skip the news, they just disregard it because they've seen this before. The COVID app had data leaks, the visa check system was a nightmare, and the current immigration app is still half broken. Not to throw shade, it's progress, but they always lack execution and security
@code_kartik Great alternative to @shottr_cc if you don't want to pay the one time fee. Both are solid but free forever is hard to beat. Really impressive rebuilding this from scratch in native Swift!
