The disconnect between people who ask people to use AI (managers/PMs/execs) and the people who use AI (engineers/desginers/PMs) couldn't be wider.

@championswimmer and @ponnappa have written multiple times about it.

As code becomes cheaper, the natural bottleneck which forced the managers to prioritize has vanished and therefore everyone wants things done in the next hour.

But they don't realize that with pace you lose stability, yes you can build everything in the next 10 minutes but it will be dogshit in terms of ensuring even a single 9.

The only solution (and which most engineers will dread) is that they will have to push-back and prioritize task in the new world till managers actually understand that it's more critical, now than ever, to ensure you choose what needs to be built and when.

@MohapatraHemant Fair point that many AI startups today are thin layers over wrappers or prompt engineering and not all will survive long-term. But I wouldn’t write off the engineers. The skills they are building are transferable and they shouldn’t be singled out for where they work.

friday night hot take: the corp world understood the value of diversity and opened up the workplace to women but somehow got them to leave their feminine energy at the door.

most women who rose up the ranks fought men to do so and became like them in the process. so we have more women but we miss the unique flavour of leadership they could’ve brought to the table (empathetic, vulnerable, nurturing, collaborative)
