Congratulations to CM Vijay for revisiting the Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) scheme introduced by Jayalalitha!
I have been emphasizing that the Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) scheme introduced by Jayalalitha in 2001 addressed water scarcity to a great extent.
Subsequent governments didn’t bother about it much, including her own government in 2011.
The visionary Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) initiative remains one of the most impactful public-policy interventions in Tamil Nadu’s history and significantly helped address water scarcity.
It needed to be brought back on a full scale, without any compromise. I am glad CM Vijay has explored it.
Water security is economic security. The more self-sufficient Tamil Nadu becomes in meeting its water needs, the stronger and more resilient the state will be.
Congratulations to Chief Minister Joseph Vijay, who sincerely aims to make Tamil Nadu water-resilient! @CMOTamilnadu@TVKVijayHQ
