I stand in the next world with the sangat waiting for the arrival of a Shaheed.
- Gurū Göbind Singh Jī in Gurpratāp Suraj Prakāsh
Those who have meditated on Naam, the Name of the Lord, and departed after having worked by the sweat of their brows
-O Nanak, their faces are radiant in the Court of the Lord, many are saved along with them!
Bit by bit, life passes away, even though the mortal tries to hold it back.
O Nanak, unto whom should we complain? Death takes one's life away without anyone's consent. ||31||
everything broken can be mended understand this my friend, but...
these two, once broken, cannot be mended; a mirror and ones heart
- The Divine Tenth Master, Sri Dasam Guru Granth Sahib Ji
The True Guru gives help through the ages
One who does not find the Guru, does not the Truth
- Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj, Ang 34
naaree andhar sohanee masathak manee piaar
She is the most beautiful among women; upon her forehead she wears the Jewel of the Lord's Love.
sobhaa surath suhaavanee saachai praem apaar II
Her glory and her wisdom are magnificent; her love for the Infinite Lord is True.

if a hundred moons were to rise and a thousand suns appeared
even with such light, there would still be pitch darkness without the Guru.
