Your salary stayed the same.
Groceries got more expensive.
Rent went up.
Coffee costs more.
That's inflation.
The scary part? Most people underestimate how much it compounds over time.
You can't beat inflation if you don't understand it.
Better financial decisions start there.
When did you first feel it?
Week one. The discipline is becoming identity.
Five days in. The compound has started.
Every post is a brick. Every brick is a corridor.

@UtribeOne Felt it last year when I was still on the same salary as last two years and fuel spiked plus and I had other things to do with money at the time

What turns a chance technical misunderstanding into a multi-year executive partnership building global financial software?
In Episode 12 of our "Meet the Team" documentary series, we sit down with Oliver, Co-Founder & CTO at Ubuntu Tribe.
Oliver shares the origin story of meeting CEO Mamadou Toure in 2017, mistaking the platform name for the Linux operating system, and how their shared alignment on technical infrastructure birthed a long-term collaboration. With a background in economic informatics and decades spent building enterprise data centers, Oliver discusses his role as an Innovation Architect who balances code execution, infrastructure stability, and regulatory compliance.
"An entrepreneur needs to understand marketing, finance, and compliance. Hands-on experience across data center engineering gives you the foundation to build useful tools for the future."

Before we have the debate, I'd love for us to build a shared understanding of what we'll actually be discussing.
Every day, we place our trust in something.
We trust our families to make certain decisions. We trust banks to keep our money safe. We trust schools to educate our children. We trust our phones to get us to the right destination. Trust is woven into almost every decision we make, even when we don't consciously think about it.
Can we trust algorithms more than institutions?
To answer that, let's first understand what each one is.
Think about your household.
Imagine payday arrives. Your family already has a rhythm. Rent comes first. Groceries follow. Electricity gets paid. Transport is planned. Whatever remains goes into savings or other priorities. You don't sit down every month and reinvent the process. You follow a sequence that has worked over time.
That sequence is an algorithm.
Even deciding what to cook for dinner follows a similar pattern. You look at what's available, make a decision, and move to the next step. An algorithm is simply a repeatable way of making decisions.
Technology works in much the same way. When you open Google Maps, it looks at different routes and recommends one. When your bank processes a payment, it checks a series of rules before approving the transaction. Algorithms help make thousands of decisions every day by following clear instructions.
Now let's look at institutions.
Institutions exist because people achieve more together than they do alone. They create structure, coordinate resources, resolve challenges, and help communities move in the same direction.
Going back to our household example, imagine your parents managing the family budget. They understand the context behind every decision. They know when someone is unwell, when school fees are due, or when an unexpected opportunity appears. Their experience, judgment, and relationships shape the decisions they make.
This is where our conversation becomes interesting.
Algorithms make decisions by following rules.
Institutions make decisions through people.
Algorithms bring consistency.
Institutions bring judgment.
Algorithms process information at incredible speed.
Institutions bring experience, wisdom, and human understanding.
As finance becomes increasingly digital, these two worlds are coming closer together. The real opportunity may not be choosing one over the other. It may be understanding how each contributes to building financial systems that are efficient, transparent, resilient, and worthy of our trust.
That is exactly what we'll be exploring in our upcoming debate.
So before we meet, I'd love to leave you with one question.
Imagine your household finances for the next year.
Would you feel more confident relying on a trusted institution to make decisions, or on a transparent algorithm that follows the same rules every time?
Join us as we unpack this together.
The future of finance is being shaped today, and every perspective adds value to the conversation.
