The day you pray your Salah with full concentration will be the day you realize that all you ever needed was Salah, and that would be sufficient to feel better and healed. If you don't pray your Salah with focus and love, you won't feel that peace after praying.
If I could go back and give advice to my 17-year-old self. I'd say:
- learn arabic
- don't listen to music
- memorize more qur'ān
- master high-income skills
- don't delay your islāmic studies
- let go of friends who pull you away from religion
What would you tell yourself?
The Prophet (صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) said:
“The people who weren’t tested in this dunya will wish their skins were cut open when they see the rewards for those who were tested.”
– Jami’i at-Tirmidhi 2402
Make duā for your friends not only when they ask for it but even when they don’t. Mention their names in sujood when they’re struggling and even more so when they seem fine.
Ask Allah to ease their hearts, bless their efforts and protect them from trials they never speak of.
Continue making du'ā with the same enthusiasm you had at the beginning.
Du'ā is an act of worship. Don't let a delayed response discourage you.
Allah will never leave you empty-handed. There's khayr in every delay.
Shaykh Bin Baz رحمه الله said:
"You have to think well of Allah and continue to make du'a (supplicate) and be persistent in that, for in supplication there is much good for you."
[Majmoo' al-Fataawa, 5/304]
May Allāh surround us with those who have pure intentions toward us, those who sincerely love and care for us, and those who support us in both our Deen and dunya. May He bless us with companions who remember us in their prayers, even in our absence, āmeen…
Make sure to read Surah al-Kahf, to send an abundance of salawat upon our Prophet ﷺ and to give what you can in charity.
Remember to keep the oppressed in your duas, alongside your loved ones. Preserve the time of Sa’at Istijabah. May you have a blessed day
The sadness that lingers in the heart when you return from umrah is the worst part about going. And the people you met that you probably won’t see again, but your hearts are forever bonded. I can’t see myself spending Ramadan anywhere but there.
Umar b. al-Khaṭṭāb رضي الله عنه said:
"There's no good in a people that don't advise, and there's no good in a people who don't love the advisers."
