Up next: @riyukx’s essay Possible Worlds Theory and the Fictionality of Images in Counterfactual Narratives. Yeah, I’m needing-out here big time! (This collection of essays ed. by @alterAlison & @TorsaG are so incredibly good.)
So, the thing we've been working on is Linguistics Methods Hub. The hope is for it to be a central place you can publish your tutorials/handouts/etc in a searchable and cross-referenceable way. https://t.co/myCOAp5Azy
Two weeks ago, I had four precious 12-year-old girls, including my daughter, with me at the county fair. They were getting blue Icees and corndogs for the walk to the car and ride home. (1/21)

What is happening is disgusting, outrageous islamophobia that makes one believe the chilling warnings about potential genocide. Caste Hindu terrorism first inscribed its hatred by shutting open the doors to Dalits--it is the same terrorism that shuts down colleges to Muslim girls
Tell me how is banning someone wearing #hijab from accessing schools/universities is any different, or less draconian & misogynist, than #Taliban depriving women of education by insisting on specific configuration of space within institutions at best or outright banning at worst?
It's been a strength of India that everyone is free to wear what they want. If the hijab is disallowed, what about the Sikh turban? The Hindu's forehead mark? The Christian's crucifix? This college is going down a slippery slope. Let the girls in. Let them study. Let THEM decide.
Possibly the worst bit of an academic job advert I've ever seen: "This post is to cover maternity on a month-to-month basis up to 9 months or until the substantive postholder returns from maternity leave, or in the event of her resignation, whichever date is earlier."
I will never get over this incident because it’s just so incredibly unfair in just so many ways. The women who spoke up in defence of both the reviewer and the kids are still facing racist attacks. They’ll surely face more after all the articles written.
