Simon has been found dead, reportedly from "suicide." RIP to Simon and to all whistleblowers who have died too young.
The truth about Lutnick will never die
Haitians get treated poorly in DR every day. Dominican citizens have their citizenship stripped from them for having Haitian parents. Pregnant haitian women & their babies get thrown in cramped trucks and left unattended for hours…but we can’t celebrate winning a futbol match😭?
@StNowhereBoy True. I think cringe is often just a social boundary disguised as an aesthetic judgment. Once you’re in a community that doesn’t enforce that boundary as strongly, people become much freer to be themselves.
Hundreds of displaced Palestinians gathered to watch a friendly football match in Khan Younis, in southern Gaza. The teams played on a makeshift field that was set up among tents and the ruins of buildings destroyed by Israeli attacks.
@Kaldereta22 We Filipinos have a beautifully genuine desire to outwardly express which is why it's so incompatible with the nonchalant gimmick. The fear to be cringe clashes with the personal tendency to make our feelings known, so they compensate by being even bigger pricks 💔
Because sharing is caring. Saw this post in Facebook. PS. Not all Filipinas want a foreigner's money and dick! Most of us are well educated and hardworking.
AWARENESS POST — GIRLS, PLEASE BE CAREFUL, ESPECIALLY AROUND BGC 🇵🇭!!!!
I’m sharing this because this was the first time I experienced something like this, and honestly, it really scared me.
I met this man at Starbucks, Uptown Parade in BGC. He was with a Filipina woman, and because they were together, I honestly thought they were a couple. That’s why when he approached me and asked if he could sit at my table, I didn’t hesitate and said sure. I didn’t think anything inappropriate was going to happen.
After sitting down, he asked me what time Starbucks closes. I told him I wasn’t sure.
Then he started asking for my WhatsApp number. I told him that I don’t use WhatsApp.
After that, he asked me if I knew Batangas. I said yes. He asked me which place in Batangas would be better for a vacation, and I told him Laiya.
That’s when he suddenly started asking me to join him and be his tour guide. I told him that I didn’t want to go and that I had work, but he kept insisting.
The Filipina who was with him also told me that he was from Australia.
Later, he even asked me to go to his hotel. He said I could just check out his hotel, and if I didn’t like it, I could leave—but if I liked it, I could stay.
I repeatedly told him NO. I also told him that I have a boyfriend and that I wasn’t going with him, but he continued to be very persistent. The Filipina who was with him was also encouraging me to go.
What made the situation even more uncomfortable was that they told me they would just look for other girls if I wouldn’t go with him. He even told me that he was disappointed in me because I didn’t go with him.
After he said that, he eventually went outside. That was when I started feeling really anxious because the whole situation was already making me extremely uncomfortable.
A little later, I went outside because my Grab was already arriving. They saw me again, and the man came up to me and started insisting again that I go with him.
At that point, I was literally shaking. It felt so weird and uncomfortable because I had already said NO several times, but he was still insisting. I just wanted to get into my Grab and leave.
I’m sharing this not to accuse him of anything I cannot prove, but because this is what personally happened to me, including the things that were said to me, and I want other women to be aware and cautious if they encounter him.
Especially to young women and teenagers, please be careful. If someone you barely know keeps asking for your number, keeps insisting that you go somewhere with them, or continues after you have clearly said NO, please trust your instincts.
You don’t owe anyone your number, your time, or your company. You also don’t have to stay polite when you feel unsafe.
Please stay safe, girls. Trust your gut, stay around people you trust, and don’t be afraid to walk away. Your NO should be enough.
A brave Egyptian teenager defies the border barrier to deliver bread to starving Palestinians in Gaza.
“I delivered 1,000 loaves of bread to the Palestinians,” he says.
