I am on my 16th week of COVID ICU duty.
My always working drugs are Dexamethasone & Enoxaparin.
I have no idea why are we making a hue and cry for Plasma & Remdesevir.
I take conscious efforts everyday to make sure both of my kids do not even think of signing up for NEET UG exam ever in their life.
I only have sympathies to all kids who still do that here in Kerala.
The only good news possible, out of the stand up comedy issue, is that, as per reports, everyone is sensitized to the fact that this RICH medical student got into the prestigious Seth GS/KEM Mumbai College on a Reserved category Seat.
So undeserving because she is rich.
An economically backward student from the reserved category should have got that seat.

Mumbai: A broad white line drawn from the road to the footsteps of a wing in a housing society has disturbed the peace that had existed for over two decades in Ghatkopar area. To find out what really is the issue, @journovidya spoke to residents of Kailas Avenue

Dear #Gujarat,
When you travel abroad, you don’t just represent yourselves, you carry India’s reputation with you.
Please don’t do things that bring disrespect or embarrassment to the country on foreign soil.
Regards,
Rest of India.
Dear non-Keralites, don’t even dare compare Mohanlal’s performance with the actors from other language versions of Drishyam.
Drishyam 3 may end up getting mixed reviews, but that still doesn’t make such comparisons sensible. If anything, it’s just embarrassing to Lalettan and Malayalis.
Okay, the orders have gone down to reduce residency hours.
My easy question is who will take this extra work load?
Or is the answer is its an HOD's problem and none of anyone else's.
So all the charcha around the Rashtrapati Bhavan banquet for President To Lam sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole, to looking up the menu of the very first state banquet of the Republic of India! What did guests eat that evening of 24th January, 1950?
Non-vegetarian menu: - Cream of spinach soup (must have been such a welcome start in the Dilli-ki-sardi of then.) - Fillet de pomfret frit (fried pomfret fillets) with sauce tartare. - Duck in mustard and cayenne - with peas, cauliflower and roast potatoes. - Pommes Chantilly - stewed apples + sweetened cream.
Vegetarian menu: - Cream of spinach soup. - Aloo Dum, Cauliflower Curry, Raita, Papad, and Chutney (I’m guessing with rice / and Indian breads) - and the same Pommes Chantilly
(Aside: I feel like I really need to make this as soon as the apple season rolls in).
So the menu was mainly European (or ‘Continental’), other than the Vegetarian main-course. But seasonal, for the most part.
But my favourite detail in Indrani Devi’s (wife of Jagjivan Ram) memoir which has an account of this meal, is that a single red rose was placed before the plate of every vegetarian guest so the butlers would know not to serve them meat. Such tender, old-world choreography. ♥️
One more detail - the Toasts were raised with sharbat. Alcohol (which offended the Mahatama) had been banished from the Rashtrapati Bhavan, except in a guest suite, write Salma Husain & Lizzie Collingham in their coffee-table book, Around India’s First Table.
This banquet was held two days before our first Republic Day when the constitution of India came into effect and Shri Rajendra Prasad became our first president, so technically the Republic of India’s first banquet was hosted by a Governor General - Chakravarty Rajagopalachari, and it was for President Sukarno of the recently independent Indonesia. Two recently decolonised state, seated across a long table in the Delhi winter, imagining themselves into the future over Palak Soup and stewed Apples!
The moon was a waxing crescent - I look up moon phases to imagine what the sky must’ve looked like that night. I’m certain we could see a lot more stars in the Delhi sky than we can, now.
Every medico & consultant is now obnoxiously loud of their 'achievements' on Instagram most of them trivial basic stuff expected of them
This kind of reel life be it for social validation or personality clout are also signs of deep seated insecurity this profession now holds.
1. V.S. Joy – Malappuram DCC President and a Christian, won from Thavanur in Malappuram, a constituency with over 90% Muslim voters, defeating LDF’s prominent Muslim नेता Dr. K.T. Jaleel.
2. Mohammed Shiyaas – Ernakulam DCC President, secured victory in Kochi by defeating sitting LDF MLA K.J. Maxy, a Christian, in a constituency with a predominantly Christian electorate.
3. Sandeep Warrier – KPCC spokesperson and an upper-caste Hindu, won from Trikkaripur, overcoming LDF’s prominent Muslim face V.P.P. Mustafa in a Muslim-majority constituency.
That’s the real #KeralaStory
(Shared with me by a friend)
One #KeralaStory from the recent election results that communalists should note: a Muslim majority constituency, Thavanur, elected a Christian, VS Joy; a Hindu majority constituency, Kalamassery, elected a Muslim. VE Abdul Gafoor; and a Christian majority constituency, Kochi, elected a Muslim, Muhammed Shiyas. Despite some influence from the national trends in favour of identity politics, Kerala remains a model of communal harmony, a state where people see human beings first and caste or religion later
