Salaried employees are one of the largest taxpayers in the country, but they get the minimum benefits.

It is high time to revise the 80C, standard deduction, and income tax limit in Budget 2023.

But since Nirmala Sitharaman Ji is our finance minister, I do not see any relief for salaried employees in this July budget either.

Some major changes that are likely to come:-

[1] Mainstream media will split. They are likely to cater to many sides.

[2] Relevant data/surveys would be brought to light. Eg. Census Survey.

[3] One sided knee jerk moves (eg. Demonetisation) are unlikely to happen.

[4] A more relevant budget would be presented. If taxes are increased, this will become a mainstream talking point.

[5] Consensus building would make things slow. Importance of parliament debates would increase.

[6] Focus would go back to addressing (or at least talking about things like) unemployment issue for example.

@ANI There is no mention of tracking technology so I guess GPS will be used to track all the cars now. Govt will have your cars location all the in that case, there should be more clarification around this @EFF #PrivacyMatters

Our parents were able to own a house, buy a car, raise 2 kids, live debt free-- all with a modest salary.

Now, people are making 10X more. But, are unable to afford many real assets.

[In fact we are talking about things like: buying a fraction of a house -- REITs-- because many hard working folks can't own a house anymore]

Why?

[1] India's savings rate is at a 3 decade low. So people are saving less.

[2] Whatever we save, even that money doesn't beat inflation in most cases.

With more debt on the world, the rate of erosion of savings is at an all time high.

[3] We are finding it harder and harder to beat real inflation.

Data is constantly manipulated to paint the picture that inflation is like 4-5% -- but your kids' school fee or rent keeps going up in excess of 10% easily.

On top of all this: we are overwhelmed with choices. Be it investing, consuming content, picking a job-- there are too many choices. And, it simply confuses us.

As a result, we don't act when it comes to investing our money well. We simply look for escape.

This is NOT a push that you should go and invest. Your money, your life, your rules.

I'm sharing the economic reality with you: taxes are NOT going to go down. Real inflation in the economy is NOT going down.

Figure out ways to deal with it.
