The Rotch-Jones-Duff House & Garden Museum chronicles 150 years (1834-1981) of economic and social life in New Bedford, as reflected in the lives of residents.

What was it like to study at Harvard in the 19th century? In 2004, the @rjdmuseum purchased a collection of documents that included a set of 75 letters from William Rotch (1844–1925) to his friend Henry—about everything to do with life at school.

Wear your ugliest holiday sweater and seasonal accessories. The Cookie Challenge is in its 4th year where weekend-warrior bakers bring batches of their favorite homemade cookie for you to sample and judge. This event is part of AHA Night. Donations are accepted in lieu of a fee.

If you want to see our Christmas decor for yourself, be sure to visit on Dec 14th from 4-6pm for Christmas on County. Drop in to see the decked halls of the mansion and hear from docents about some of the holiday customs held by residents of the house.

The Rotch-Jones-Duff House will be closing at noon this Wednesday to celebrate Thanksgiving. We'll be back to our normal hours on Friday! 🦃

And a huge shout-out to Mayor Jon Mitchell for his exciting news of an ARPA grant exceeding $500,000 for our museum. This award will be used to enable greater use of the RJD's porches, patio and gardens, and address safety and accessibility issues.
