Indian diplomats identified as spies
“Gurinder Singh was a consul at the Vancouver consulate. He was an Indian Police Service officer, a graduate of the IPS academy that trains senior policemen and intelligence agents. He left last week.
CSIS found that Mr. Singh had paid agents planted in almost every Sikh temple in British Columbia and among the various Sikh separatist groups. Sources said that some of the violence and conflict in the Sikh community had been inspired by such agents”
NSICOP (National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians) 2024 report found that foreign governments such as India attempted to interfere in Canadian elections. The report states that some parliamentarians were
"witting or semi-witting" participants in foreign interference activities.
