@cath_haddon@instituteforgov News of complaints encouraged other complainants to come forward with Raab. With Pincher, upheld complaints led to no action being taken until subsequent actions became public. So I can understand the desire for Ministers to be accountable to the public too.
UK will be able to help set the terms of future members joining. Detail on environmental and food standards will be important to examine. The praise for officials involved in the negotiation is welcome and deserved.
#CPTPP membership is more important in geopolitical terms in demonstrating the UK's commitment to the Indo-Pacific than it is economically. We had trade deals with 9 of the 11 countries already, but CPTPP may grow in future to include other important markets.
Should there be penalties for not telling the truth outside parliament too? Do we need a wider discussion about the truth in politics? Does misrepresentation not amount to an untruth?#PartyGateInquiry
@MoazzamTMalik@guardian@guardianopinion I agree. A change of culture is needed: if bad behaviour is considered a government secret then people can get away with it. Instead the expectation should be that upheld allegations will reach the press.
The British people understood that when Trump promised to build the wall, he was just doing it for politics and that it would not work. Today's #StopTheBoats announcement from Sunak and Braverman is exactly the same. Breaking international law does us more harm than good.
@SnellArthur So hard to imagine that we would do something like this to a white dual national who committed crimes overseas. This punishment seems far worse than a 15 yo might have received for almost any other crime committed in the UK.
Good that these political prisoners are no longer behind bars. But it says so much about support for Ortega within Nicaragua that he wanted to keep them out and has revoked their citizenship.
Today, the United States welcomes 222 political prisoners released by the Government of Nicaragua. Their release marks a constructive step towards addressing human rights concerns. We remain a steadfast partner of the Nicaraguan people. https://t.co/aP9apOiRkc

Education is a right, not a privilege. Afghanistan's women and girls deserve an education. Their rights should not be taken away by others. https://t.co/fm0IeiwWWw
Highest level UN visit to Kabul headed by @AminaJMohammed & incl @unwomenchief & @khiari_khaled to raise concern about #Taliban government edicts restricting women’s access to work & education. UN emphasising “importance of international community speaking with one voice”
@SimonCalder At LHR T5 you have to be entering security or flight connections at least 35 mins before your plane departs. So the connecting passengers would have waited overnight for the following day’s departure I’m afraid.
Did you know that Harvard has free Resume, CV and Cover Letter resources - including action verbs, templates and samples?
I've compiled a list of them -
@Fer_Champion@Embamexru@josefagbom Loved this last night. The tribute to the late HM Queen was so touching. Congratulations to you and everyone at la Embajada
