I cannot comprehend how Ole Miss thought it was a smart/clever idea to serve Umanmielen on game week in the #LSU parking lot.
Tough look for the Ole Miss crowd who villainize LSU/Kiffin for everything petty.
National media will have a field day with this.
As I stated in July when this first popped up, no issue with Ole Miss—or any school—enforcing a contract.
The issue was with Keith Carter naming the players publicly in an interview. And now this the week of the game? Continues to show how small and petty he is.
He looked foolish for believing Kiffin would stay when the entire world knew he was leaving. Now he’s trying to act tough to impress his sympathetic fanbase. Weak.

Louisiana’s appeals court has sided with the players in the ongoing SEC eligibility battle.
DA Tony Clayton didn’t hold back on Greg Sankey:
“They just won’t quit. Greg Sankey is a misguided missile, and he’s going to ruin the SEC.”

“I get that the SEC is trying to establish its authority and preserve its ability to govern itself, but trying to do that by making an example out of a member school that ultimately complied and did not roster the two players in question strikes me as very poor leadership.”
More of my thoughts on the whole mess, plus some football talk (What we learned about LSU’s defense in Week 1) & more.

It’s completely deranged and an abuse of power to kick a school out of the conference who didn’t break any rules just because you don’t like the coach or the level of attention the school gets. Sankey should not have a job.
This is a tad perplexing given #LSU opted not to roster these players despite them being granted eligibility by court order.
Not sure how you can punish a team that is abiding by the rules.
I'm the last person to defend LSU, but I'll just say it: this is really dumb.
This is an extraordinary amount of legal machinery for two guys who never even played an NFL down.
Dae’Quan Wright is a 22-year-old tight end. Virginia Tech, then Ole Miss. Last year: 39 catches, 635 yards, 5 TDs, second-team All-SEC. Went undrafted. Signed with the Eagles for $25,000, got waived, claimed by the Browns, dressed for warmups once, played zero snaps, waived August 24.
Zxavian Harris is a 6-foot-8 defensive tackle who started 15 games at Ole Miss last year (58 tackles, 9 TFL, 3 sacks). Undrafted after foot surgery. Saints UDFA. Never played a preseason snap. Waived August 8. He testified he made $190 in gas money.
If they had not declared, they would have been in the same boat as the rest of the 2022 class now winning fifth-year cases in court. The NCAA is already letting that class back. UCLA, South Carolina, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, and Minnesota have already added those plaintiffs. Junior Tuihalamaka, an undrafted Notre Dame defensive end who never signed an NFL contract, played for LSU on Saturday.
So the actual rule the SEC is threatening to expel a 1932 charter member over is this: you can have a fifth year if a judge gives it to you, unless you spent three weeks on an NFL practice squad and got cut.
The NCAA itself is a total mess with no rules that make sense and no leadership. Just let them play?
There is pretty hard evidence in every direction that there is Collusion happening with the SEC. They’ll be lucky to not get sued into oblivion. LSU is being targeted and it’s not even being hidden.
We cannot allow this NFL guy that has earned a whole $190 dollars come in and play his 5th year of college football, it’s not right!
*Chambliss playing his SIXTH year of college football earning $5 million dollars*
What an absolute clown world we live in
ESPNJ just commented on the Zxavien Harris and Dae'Quan Wright news.
The feed from Bristol said "both spent most of August in NFL Training camps."
Not true.
Then the broadcast during the GT/Colorado game that "both were expected to play on Saturday vs Clemson."
Also not true.
Part of the issue in all of this (besides it being dumb) is the amount of misinformation and ignorance being talked about from the media.
The court has ruled in favor of the athletes! Again, they are not professional football players circling back after years in the NFL. They are college players who were told, by the NCAA, that they were done. So they took the only door that was open, only to watch the NCAA change the lock behind them.
I am sure these athletes are relieved and anxious to get back in the game!
Let’s spot the ball! #GeauxTigers!
Well, it looks like LSU's going to pick up some players now.
The judge was NOT impressed with the SEC's arguments.
These guys are going to act like it's the end of the world, but it really isn't. You've got a poorly-implemented rule that caused chaos for one group of players, and then you tried to bully your way into making the problem go away.
That isn't going to work.
It's time for the SEC and NCAA to just grant a waiver for the 2022 players, to include former pros who got cut. If they want to say those players have to give back the money they made beyond their expenses, then OK. But continuing to fight this and citing "principle" is just dumb.
