That was fast.
Another 8 hours later and the 10Y Note Yield is now pushing into 5.00% with US oil prices above $104/barrel.
If US CPI inflation comes in hot tomorrow, things are going to get very ugly.
The US economy cannot afford higher rates.
Something has to give.
It's official.
June, July and August of 2026 were the hottest summer in American history.
Hotter than the Dust Bowl summer of 1936. Hotter than anything in 132 years of records.
Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico just had the hottest summer their states have ever measured. Texas, Florida and California, top 4.
1936 had eight states at #1. It also had six states cooler than normal. This summer had four at #1 and not one cool state.
That is how you beat the Dust Bowl. Find your state on the map.
Toyota's got a 19.7% chance of hitting 250,000+ miles, according to a new iSeeCars study.
That's 3.7x the industry average.
Lexus, Honda, Acura, and GMC round out the top five, all outperforming the 5.4% overall average.
If I were selling any of these five brands, I'd practically have this chart framed on the sales floor.

🚨BREAKING: Someone murdered an entire family in Mexico to steal a Bitcoin hardware wallet reportedly holding $1.5 MILLION.
Jonathan Meléndez, keyboardist of the band Camilo Séptimo, his pregnant wife, their 3-year-old daughter and their housemaid were killed by someone who knew about his holdings stored at home.
Their 6-year-old son survived.
Two suspects were arrested within 12 hours and face up to 70 years per victim.
Violent crypto robberies are surging, with over $30 MILLION stolen through physical attacks on crypto holders in the first half of 2026 alone, per Chainalysis.
BREAKING: Iran's IRGC announces it carried out the single largest attack in the Strait of Hormuz of the war, striking 10 vessels in retaliation for tonight's US strikes on 5 Iranian oil tankers.
The IRGC says it struck 8 oil tankers attempting to pass through the Strait and the two US destroyers it named earlier tonight, "inflicting significant damage."
The US struck 3 tankers on Sept. 5 and Iran responded with 6, the US struck 5 tonight and Iran responded with 10. Two for one is now the pattern.
BREAKING: IRAN HAS REJECTED DONALD TRUMP’S LATEST PEACE PROPOSAL sent through mediators — demanding $300 BILLION in compensation, the COMPLETE LIFTING of U.S. sanctions and other conditions before any talks can move forward, per a senior Iranian source to RT.
Tehran says Washington’s “repeated violations” and shifting positions have made negotiations IMPOSSIBLE for now, insisting that Iran will set the conditions for any future proposal.
Iran is also demanding the release of $100 BILLION in frozen Iranian assets, an END to the U.S. naval blockade, withdrawal of U.S. forces from the entire region and a COMPREHENSIVE REGIONAL CEASEFIRE, including in Lebanon and Gaza.
BREAKING: US diesel prices surge above $5.90/gallon for the first time in history, with prices in some states now above a record $8.00/gallon.
This comes as Iran has rejects the latest US peace proposal and the US and Iran exchange strikes in the Strait of Hormuz.
This is especially problematic as the US has officially entered its peak diesel demand period.
Inflation expectations continue to mount as a result.
🚨WARNING: Oil is closing in on $100 AGAIN.
Crude has surged to its highest level in nearly 3 months, with Brent now around $97/barrel.
U.S. inflation is already at 3.4% and gasoline prices are up 24.6% YoY.
Now crude is closing in on $100, while Gulf oil shipments remain disrupted and U.S. diesel prices sit at records.
That puts another inflation pressure on the Fed’s desk just days before its next rate decision.
If oil breaks $100 and stays there, the Fed’s inflation problem gets a lot harder.
The next major test is Friday’s CPI report.
🚨BREAKING: The US Treasury could buy back over $34 BILLION of its own debt in September alone.
Next week alone carries up to $14.5 BILLION in capacity, with the program doubling in size on September 9.
The 30-year yield sits near a 20-year high, with the government now spending over $1 TRILLION a year just on interest.
Treasury Secretary Bessent insists the goal is liquidity, not controlling yields, saying "I have not bought anything yet."
The last time the buyback program expanded, Bitcoin surged 22% in a single week.
Google searches for “can’t sell house” just hit an all-time high. Above 2008.
“Help with mortgage” is back at 2009 levels.
Sellers can’t sell and owners can’t pay.
🇺🇸 FED RATE HIKE IS ALMOST CONFIRMED NOW.
Just now, the US unemployment data came in at 4.1% vs. 4.1% expected, equalling its lowest level in 14 months.
On top of that, the US economy added 162,000 jobs in August vs. 55,000 expected.
This means the job market is getting better, while inflation is still hot.
And that's precisely what gives more room for rate hikes.
Next week, the inflation data drops, and with the recent oil price increase, it's expected to stay inflated, which will force the Fed to hike rates.
