Most Canadians are worried about paying the bills, finding a good job, and building a future for their kids.

An elected MP thought it was more important to post a photo celebrating an insult aimed at a political opponent. That's a problem.

Politics has become less about solving problems and more about collecting likes from people who already agree with you.

Whether you support @ABDanielleSmith or not is beside the point. Canadians deserve representatives who can debate ideas without cheering on contempt borne from public tantrums.

When politicians start chasing applause instead of results, it's ordinary Canadians who end up paying the bill, every single time.

About 75% of the containers unloaded at Vancouver and Prince Rupert move east through Alberta — roughly 900,000 physical containers a year.

B.C. is not just a Pacific gateway. It is also continentally landlocked by Alberta.

And when that is combined with the Lower Mainland’s dependence on Alberta oil delivered to the Burnaby refinery for gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, Alberta plainly holds more leverage in this relationship than B.C. does.

This is very irresponsible. Politicians should not be implying other politicians are fascists. It is a form of dehumanization that implies that their opponents are evil and that their lives are therefore disposable. Treaty rights must be respected, and First Nations must have a meaningful voice in any constitutional discussions affecting their future.

But consultation cannot mean preventing Albertans from voting. A peaceful, lawful vote is democracy’s highest form of public consultation—the opportunity for every citizen to freely express a choice.
