Day 2 of $1M with ecom
I did a deep dive on my ad account and found some ads from the past that were turned off by my stupid ass too early (actually had good CPA, but I turned them off on 3 days metrics).
Bunched all of these into one ad set and it took over all spend immediately (and got sales). Seems that I finally will get a day with profitable ROAS after losing money for weeks.
Re-edited an old VSL style ad that I had ran before. Noticed that the version I tested had a really slow pace. I sped it up to 1.3x speed and the flow was so much better. Combined with the improved visuals, I want to give this another chance.
As I want to test more VSL-s, then the body of this new re-edited ad can be re-used with different hooks and leads.
I did some brainstorming to ideate fascinations that I could implement inside the VSL leads. I found some lead ideas that I am proud of and excited to test. Having a strong unique mechanism makes writing hooks and leads so much easier. I can open with a statement that sounds totally counterintuitive to the viewer (creating interest) but then actually use science based data to back my shit up and introduce my unique mechanism.
So the plan for tomorrow:
Edit the new VSL-s using the leads I wrote today and the VSL body that I edited today.
Day 1 of $1M with ecom AGAIN
It's been 448 days since I last posted.
A lot has happened since then. But a lot has still remained the same.
I have ran 2 products during this time. In the second half of 2025, I found a semi-winner.
A knee pain product I scaled to $1k/day but due to multiple DMCA-s and sizing issues with customers I had to cut it at the end of 2025.
Went back to the drawing board. I used @peralaleevi_ 's resources about building unique mechanisms and found an unique mechanism that could be implemented in a super competitive niche. Actually reached $3k/day with this product in March, with healthy 30% margins. And it's a consumable product so already had some repeat purchases.
In April, everything collapsed. My winning ad died, I could not replicate the success it had. Absolutely panicked. My CPA kept climbing (doubled by now).
I Scaled down, basically running at breakeven ever since. I've been on the edge of cutting this product for almost 2 months now. But something tells me I could still make this work. The mechanism is decent (every post purchase survey submission confirms it). I have fully custom packaging and 30 active subscribers that keep some cash flowing in, which has stopped me from cutting this product completely. I made like $12k profit in 3 months and now it's slowly burning as I have been struggling to find winning ads.
I feel like I have bit off more than I can chew by entering one of the most competitive niches in the market.
In the past month, I have been struggling with analysis paralysis. Should I keep trying, should I test a new product? This has spread my focus, my output has decreased, I am testing less and stressing more. I constantly keep looking for new products while I could be scripting new ads, putting effort into better ads.
So I decided that I will give myself 1 month to make it work. If not then I put all my focus on a new product.
The plan:
As the whole ad library in my niche is filled with AI animation ads and native statics, I will try to move in the opposite direction. I will put my effort into trying to crack a more unaware VSL style ad using again @peralaleevi_ resources around this (these are actual gold and helped me reach to $3k/day in the first place).
Let's work.
@adamtaylorl Insane sauce. Every time my results start declining I panic and start throwing shit at the wall, hoping that something sticks. Your videos actually helped me find a structured way to go forward. Thank you sir!๐ซก
Escaping my 9-5 to do ecom full time - day 19/226
So yesterday i noticed that iโm getting a ton of ATC, but only like 15% of these reached checkout.
So I started digging, and found out that my product page was FUCKEEED
I had messed around with market pricing settings and my the price displayed on product page was lower than the one displayed in the cart (in the UK)
Because of this, all my conversion came from the US, where COGS are significally higher.
So it was eating up all my profit.
I fixed the pricing issue and rised prices significantly in the US.
Letโs see how it plays out.
Escaping my 9-5 to do ecom full time - day 16/226
I have tried ecom on and off for ~4 years. This is the FIRST TIME Iโve actually seen profit.
Lately i feel like the countless fails and learnings have given me puzzle pieces that I am now starting to understand how to piece together.
In the past days Iโve focused on increasing my conversion rate and AOV:
1) set up a abandoned checkout flow with sms and email
2) added better product images
3) added a post purchase upsell
Now my next focus is on creating new and better ads and also add advertorials to my funnel.
Tomorrow I will bump my budget again, but I know that I need more creative volume to get any significant scale.
Back to work boys!
Escaping my 9-5 to do ecom full time - day 14/226
Fixed my product pages messaging and product images andโฆ
Got 5 ROAS on the next 2 days.
Now bumped my budget
Started running retargeting ads
And a lot of work to do on the backend-
email flows, post purchase upsells, customer service etcโฆ
Win or lose, iโm in love with the process
Back to the trenches!
Escaping my 9-5 to do ecom full time - day 12/226
0 sales for the past 1,5 days
When i first tested the mass desires, I used flexible ads (dumbass move)
Now i have no data about what specifically worked, just know which adset worked.
So now I have no clear direction, what should I do next.
Spent time today researching forums, reddit and amazon reviews
I think my current messaging isnโt aligned with why the customers actually buy the product.
Back to the drawing boardโฆ
Escaping my 9-5 to do ecom full time - day 10/226
