1/ 12 years ago, I typed my first "Hello world!". It is not easy to learn bioinformatics from scratch. But it is possible if you put in effort and have a clear pathway.
We found a way to implant bacteria 🦠 in fungi 🍄and used it to induce artificial endosymbiosis. Read all about it in our newest research paper @Nature .

I feel so loved! My colleagues and students provided snacks for my tenure and promotion seminar yesterday. Special thanks to Ana Longo for sugar cookie versions of all the species featured in my talk and to @CRNolte for the edible isotopes!
