One of many reasons I love Rachel Aviv's reporting. It is so clean, efficient. Beginning with Luwi at a sewing machine in Goroka, she reveals, detail by patient detail, a history of scientific glory, colonial extraction, abuse and complicity. Nothing is over-explained; she just layers fact on fact and lets the story tell itself.
Of all the reasons to loathe celebrity culture, watching ambulances - with real humans in dire need - being detoured around the Garden for this APPALLING wedding party has made the top of my list.
