21%(2013-2016) to 14.9% (2022-2025) is 6.1% drop.

Conclusion:
- pattern is a drop since 2002
- lowest drop since 2002 is in 2022-2025
- highest drop in 2013-2016.

Good morning Kenyans, this is very misleading and it’s disingenuous to listen to half truths

1. Total installed capacity 3,800MW

2. Captive Power ( power generated by independent industries for own use ) 600MW

3. Off grid power eg in Maasai Mara hotels 45MW

4. Remaining interconnected power 3155

Now , power has a power factor. 3155 is what is supposedly connected to the grid at maximum capacity but plants don’t operate at maximum capacity

Eg if solar has 300MW installed , you only get 75MW because it has a 25% capacity factor.

Hydro and geothermal might have some turbines offline or being maintained.

5. Based on that we only have effective power of 2100-2300MW against a demand of 2300-2400MW forcing us to do Load shedding

We need to add more power to the grid. Please stop the misinformation.
