🎧 | RM's LOST! on The Global Chart Show (Chart Extra) with Brooke Reese on Apple Music with RM Voice Note.
Brooke : Let's do it. Let's get into your first chart extra artist this hour. Now, this one is from RM of BTS. He's back with his second studio album as a solo artist, Right Place, Wrong Person. Now, RM did score his first number one on Billboard's Top Rap Albums chart with Right Place, Wrong Person. And the album also entered the top five on the All Genre Billboard 200 chart. Of course, we had to play him right here on the Global Chart Show because you know how I feel about K-pop music, and I absolutely adore BTS. Obviously, I've been supporting them here on the Global Chart Show literally since day one. RM, of course, dropped a voice note for you to talk about this track, Lost.
RM: Hey, Brooke. This is RM of BTS. I'm back with my new album, Right Place, Wrong Person. My new solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person, is finally out. It talks about my personal experiences as the uncommon and meticulous person that I perceive myself to be in various places, circumstances, and situations. I believe many people will be able to relate to it through their own experiences, too. Hope you guys enjoy. Thank you.

📰 | BTS's RM highly praised by American professor...'A figure with 'edge' that I talk about [Book Village] from (04.04.2023)
"I may not rap cooler than (other) idols, but I believe I have my own 'edge' that they don't have. With this mindset, I think I can protect myself."
Recently, BTS leader RM appeared on TV and said this. Laura Huang, a business consultant and associate professor at Northeastern University in the United States, praised RM in her book. In the Korean edition preface of "<Edge>", she evaluated him as a figure who perfectly embodies the 'edge' she talks about.
The dictionary definition of "edge" includes meanings like edge, superiority, and sharpness. However, the author's usage in the book is slightly different. She combines the initials of English words that signify enriching one's values, changing situations, bringing genuine delight to others, guiding biases in a positive direction, and making continuous efforts.
When we work hard but no one acknowledges it, or when our efforts don't yield rewards, we feel unfairness. We perceive age, educational background, family background, and many other factors as obstacles. Regarding this, the author suggests that the world is already somewhat of a tilted playing field, and we must accept this reality and live within it.
However, we shouldn't be led along the path predetermined by society. The author emphasizes, "We can change our lives in any way we want. Anyone can do it if they cultivate their edge."
The core of what the author calls "edge" is a unique weapon that everyone possesses but may not have discovered yet. How can one find their own edge? The author provides specific examples through firsthand experiences or interviews with many individuals she met as a consultant, showing how they discovered their edge and turned it into their own strength.
The story of director Jon Chu persisting to use Coldplay's music in the movie "Crazy Rich Asians" despite several rejections, the journey of Cyrus Habib, who is visually impaired, becoming Lieutenant Governor of Washington State, and particularly the Asian young woman author's ability to captivate Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, who she had always been intimidated by, with her own edge by making him laugh uproariously, are all fascinating.
The author, while handing readers a new weapon to open closed doors due to others' perceptions, poses such a question to us who have finished reading the book: "So, what is your edge?”

📰 | Billboard : RM featured on Gaeko’s single, “Gajah” from 2017. How do the collaboration experiences and recording processes differ between RM and J-Hope?
Gaeko: I felt that the musical direction they were both pursuing was similar yet different. I felt that RM had a deep affection, understanding, and love not only for hip-hop but also for music itself. [..] I also received a lot of energy from those two.
