This is my 2nd snapshot ever since I started YouTube and I could not be more grateful for all the love and support I've received this year. I feel like I'm living a dream and it's all because of you. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you. 2023? Here we come.

I'm going to argue against it. I do understand where you're coming from and in one aspect, it's true Shadow is a safe bet compared to most but there's a lot more to it.
Like Sonic, Shadow brought more egyes on to the franchise compared to anyone else. His merch sells out faster, his fans are more active and vocal. Look at Sonic Adventure 2/Adventure 2 Battle and the reception it had, most of it was due to Shadow's character and backstory. His rivalry with Sonic surpassed all of Sonic's other rivalries prior to Shadow debuting. Fans became vocal and wrote to Sega and that was enough for them to bring him back in Sonic Heroes. And then gave him a major role in 05, and Sonic 06, then he took a back seat like everyone else for years. Whether being an assist in Smash, or just not appearing at all. Him showing up in things now isn't him snubbing Amy, or him shoehorning himself into Team Sonic.
Is there problems with Shadow now? 100%. Sega is more strict with Shadow than they are with anyone else. He barely interacts with anyone other than Sonic, Rouge, Omega, and Eggman. Two of his stories were about his past and needing to move on. He is written to show up, get written off, then show at the end or gets written to be an antagonist to Sonic for the sake of it. All of which have done Shadow 0 favors.
Now do I get the complaints of others not being given the focus? Yes and no? This is more on Sega than Shadow. Yes Shadow fans will show up the moment he appears in something that will always be a given, but the blame can't be placed on him. Look at Nickelodeon and SpongeBob. People easily blame that show for killing off a lot of Nicktoons, but never once do they want to blame Nickelodeon for those decisions instead and Nick was a lot worse about this than Sega ever was.
Let's not pretend like Amy wasn't getting things or hasn't been getting things. She has and 2023 was proof of that. Her 30th Anniversary was a giant selling point, new merch, a visual novel focused around her birthday, making multiple playable appearances in Sonic Dream Team, Frontiers Final Horizon, Sonic Superstars, and Sonic Origins. Sonic fans will lie and say that doesn't count or mean anything, then I have to ask Sonic Fans: what does? Amy arguably got more for her in 2023 than Tails did in 2022 or Knuckles in 2024.
To leave you all with this, don't blame Shadow, start blaming Sega. You need to be more vocal to them and calling them out. Shadow is not the problem. He never has been. He never will be. It's always been Sega, and you should be channeling your frustrations towards them.
Sonic fans when fortnite gives him his most iconic item and not a random fucking sword from a wii game that didnt even sell a million copies that no one likes.
