Big box girls soccer formula:
1. U8s-put fast/big kids on A team.
2. Around U10-recruit good players from other clubs/FOMO
3. Travel/Dominate U12-16 but never play local teams
4. U16-17 team drama and girls quit.
5. U18-19 cobble enough together to field 1 team
6. Rinse & repeat
Best youth soccer coach in the game is James Wray @pldsoccer. More girls and boys soccer coaches should follow his lead. One would be lucky for their kid to play for him.
Unfortunately, 42 field sprints will be seen at youth training sessions near you soon. I already know HS and youth coaches that do a lot of running without the ball. This will be there new “go to” session.

Having tryouts once a year. Selecting A,B,C…teams. THEN never training together or allowing kids to move up/down during the year sends what message? You can only show us that you improved during a few hours once a year at tryouts?
Youth development isn’t on a tryout schedule.
Fall sports at GRC have come to a close and Video Editor Kendall Barnes has put together an INCREDIBLE hype video to highlight all our fall sports teams! Congrats to all teams on their seasons! #GoCards
