@SheldonRichman Though your statement is obviously true, Shel, I must disagree with the apparent implication that there’s no point in spending money on political ads because you can’t program people to vote the way you want like you could a robot. That’s obviously not correct.
@JamesRHarrigan Not sure which is more amusing, the notion that if you don’t call them obese, people won’t know they are fat, or the idea that if you don’t call them obese fat people won’t realize you can tell they’re fat.
@JamesRHarrigan My off the top of my head thought: while removing the liver when you were attempting a splenectomy is obviously gross malpractice, it is in fact the case that adrenal glands can be ectopic in position, and the left adrenal gland is in fact very close to the pancreatic tail.
@LxxLatin@TheRedSavannah@THR You also shared that you feel it’s all right to imprison people not because they broke the law but because they weren’t supportive of Christian expression
@Ken__Fraser@cafreiman It’s a Standard economic term. Market failure occurs when the free market fails to allocate resources in a way that maximizes overall economic welfare. Think externalities, public goods, asymmetric information, monopolies, incomplete markets.
@SheldonRichman@nickgillespie To summarize the thread’s counter argument, Sheldon, “Covid involved violating OUR rights. That’s much worse than what ICE is doing, which is violating other people’s rights.”
@eva_gabrielle08@donwinslow Bitterly amusing that you think the essence of Americanism is to “do what you’re supposed to do.”I’m sure the red coats felt that way about the colonists.
@Whitjoseph@donwinslow Exactly. A free society is a society that automatically and always obeys the dictates of government agents in uniform. Just like in the old East Germany.
