The cooking lessons have begun, 9 primary school children doing a 5 week course. Week 3 tomorrow, as we move on to fruit we’ve had such great fun learning new skills and trying new flavours.

Today for lunch we celebrated Chinese New Year, with sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice or beef in black bean with vegetable noodles. Or there was a bit of everything 😋. Followed by coconut ice cream and home made fortune cookies. Quite liked my fortune 😊.
Sent an extra snack trolley round today focused on hydration, big bowl of fresh melon and milk shakes, also another great way to offer boosted milk for the residents that need it #BeNCHprojectNHS#hydration
They say preparation is key. Each morning we start by making up boosted milk bottles for our @BeNCHProjectNHS residents. Milk powder is add to a pint of milk for each resident almost doubling its calories and protein This is then used in teas, coffee’s and any milk based cooking.
Today at lunch was a succulent lamb steak, with roasted rosemary potatoes and a cranberry and red wine jus or a creamy squash and leek risotto. Followed by a stunning apple and cinnamon cake which was boosted with a whipped cream #yummy#foodfirst#Benchprojectnhs
Today lunch is, a lamb stew with a buttered slice of home made soda bread or a cheese and onion quiche with a rocket and Parmesan salad. Then a rich chocolate tart with an orange mascarpone cream yum!! #boosters#BeNCHProjectNHS

Happy new year !! 2021 ended with a busy few weeks of creativity, with Yule logs, Christmas cakes,gingerbread house’s,Nutella trees,pantos and Brussels sprouts. There was also time to deliver hampers around the local area. I can’t wait to see what 2022 will bring…..
Celebrating a 100th birthday today. We started the day with pancakes and ended it with birthday cake and enjoyed a lovely singer that came to entertain us.
So pudding today we enjoyed Rocky road mousse’s. The ones in the silver bowls are for our @BeNCHProjectNHS care plan residents, made using their boosted milk and added cream. Not inc the decoration and topped with digestive crumb and marshmallows 😋 #BeNCHprojectNHS#foodfirst
Today lunch was a lemon baked bass fillet on garlic & butter roast potatoes with green beans or a chilli jacket potato. Our BeNCH project residents enjoyed extra cheese on their potatoes & extra butter on their fish dish. As well as BOOSTED custard on their pear & ginger cake.
