A post was shared with me about how to include "Screen Time" in a student's grading. While I will not post a link I did get a screenshot to annotate. No matter what, this is exactly what NOT to do!! #techquity#digitalequity#culturalrelevance#remotelearning
@Ms_Phi11ips If you take a sick day, and don’t come back to “Rocket Ships” drawn all over your classroom (whiteboard, boxes, etc.), life is good. I’m 16 yrs. in and still traumatized.
@MsHughes12@ncte Not minority, but Bruce Spingsteen celebrates the blue collar working class and the “American dream.” Ghost of Tom Joad is a personal fav.
This. Yes. Me too. Although I’m still working on excitement and accepting greater idea development. We’re breaking thru “school appropriate” to get to real. So @halseanderson is another influence
Robert Harling's Steel Magnolias is performing at the DMS theater Fri, 9/27at 7 and Sat, 9/28 at 2 and 7. The kids have worked incredibly hard to put together this beautiful show. $5 General Admission tickets are available at the door! @MCSDLive@MarcellusCSD
@smerrill777 I’m getting some powerful work out of my grade 9, having adapted Kelly Gallagher and Penny Kittle’s narrative laps and writing from mentor texts. Love low stakes journals, flash revision, and having to model for the kids.
It’s been that way for them since 7th grade. Renditions of what they already know. Be good people, and take responsibility for your work. Those repetitions could disappear . . .
Had an insightful convo w/ Senior Ss at Open House last night about their impression of the first day of school. 8 diff classes, 8 repeats of sim expectations, with 8 diff renditions of sim about me. Time to rethink opening day
