@KJWinEducation@FulcrumLiteracy@OaklandNAACP@CCOutdoorNA What do you do instead? There’s a lot of research out there, but unless you pay millions for a new curriculum, there is very little that is easily accessible on what to do and teachers don’t have time to piece it all together. Where is the lesson/unit plan/structural support?
@KatieNovakUDL how does your work in UDL align with best practices in science of reading? I’m learning that good reading instruction is whole group/teacher led with complex texts and it’s hard to connect these two ideas. How do you have both?
@ParkerPhonics@heather_hab@JSerravallo Do you think it’s possible that @JSerravallo might have rewritten this to include more on the science of reading? Have you read the book or researched to see if anything within the book has changed?
@SimoneF63787585@ParkerPhonics@JSerravallo It’s actually been a very helpful resource to guide classroom instruction and support student learning. Also, authors do this all the time and come out with second/third/etc editions to their books which are usually because of new science and understandings. Why pick on her?
@DFISHERSDSU@NancyFrey have you read @natwexler’s The Learning Gap? As someone who is very interested in your work, can you speak to how/if this fits with your work?
@natwexler@GholdyM After reading your books and following you on social media, it sounds like you two have a lot in common. Have you ever had the chance to meet and share ideas?
@natwexler I got this yesterday and can’t put it down. Thank you for such a great read. It’s really opening my eyes and making me think about how I teach.
#UDL#UDLchat@Catlin_Tucker@KatieNovakUDL Hi UDL world, I'm trying to work through "Christmas Carol" with my 6th graders. Any advice on how to both do UDL AND make sure students are reading/understanding the text?
@ProfessaJay And in Canada, Elections Canada sets the rules for voting for the entire country! This way, every person has the same opportunity to vote as the next. How weird is that?!
@GoogleForEdu can you add the ability to create terms/semesters in a google classroom? It would be a lot easier than setting up multiple classrooms throughout the year.
