In Act 5 of #Macbeth we see truly the impact of unchecked ambition, and arrogance. There can be a parallel drawn to Macbeth’s death to that of various leaders and text throughout history and literature who died as a result of their ambition and pride. (Interesting)🧐#muddybuddies

#Macbeth’s indifferent reaction to his wife’s death showcases just how far his character has transformed. In contrast, we see lady Macbeth who seemed to be so overwhelmed with guilt and trying to wipe blood off her hands while sleepwalking. (Interesting Parallelism) #muddybuddies

I think Macbeth’s actions, say a lot about human nature. Once he got a taste of the throne, he is willing to do anything just to keep it. I’m sure that there will come a time later in the book, where he will live to regret his actions.

In #Macbeth Act 4, we truly see Macbeth’s conquest. Once a person who was hesitant to kill 1 person, now is able to kill over and over again just to secure his position. Interestingly, I think a link can be made between Macbeth’s actions to that of Corporate Culture

Act 3 of Macbeth, showcasing his paranoia, once he reaches the top, reminds me of the story of the ring of gyges, explaining how when you get to the top by doing wrong, immoral, and unethical things…deep down you know that you will never be happy, or content.

@SeanDaly04 Yeah I think so, I think the point is to showcase the level that people can drop down to for money or power, and the things that they can do to achieve it. I think Shakespeare is ultimately teaching to be a good person, in a very ironic “karma”type of manner. #muddybuddies

The soliloquy in act 2 of Macbeth is interesting. Such a warrior as Macbeth, is reflecting upon killing another person. Difference is that, this time it is with Ill-intent, wanting the throne, hence he feels this way. However it gives more insight into his character.#muddybuddies

In act 2 of Macbeth, at first I don’t understand why Macbeth Killed the guards, but later I understood that it is, showcasing people his “loyalty” to Duncan, and showcasing how “mad” he is that “someone” killed Duncan. Very Interesting Plot point by #Shakespeare. #muddybuddies

In #Hamlet Act I I think that the concept of fulfilling a destiny, inadvertently, due to the ambitions that people can put in your head is an interesting aspect of the story, I am interested to see how #Shakespeare will play this off later with Macbeth, and his wife #muddybuddies

Did anyone notice that the beginning of #Macbeth, is a bit similar to the beginning of #Hamlet? You know with the Ghost (Hamlet), Witches (Macbeth), both have elements of a war, etc. I feel like #Shakespeare does this on purpose so he can pay it off later.#muddybuddies

I like the importance that #SuzzaneKeen put on Character Identification, because it truly showcases how when we relate to a certain character and their struggles, we can better understand them, and empathize with them, similar to real people. #muddybuddies

In #ATheoryOfNarrativeEmpathy, I like how #keen addressed the relationship of empathy and sympathy, she mentions empathy is more about emotions, but rather categorizes sympathy to be a type of “Personal Distress”. Just found it interesting. #muddybuddies

In #kin @brucemcallister raises an interesting dilemma, about the question how far would you go to protect someone? Interesting how it takes such an outlandish topic about aliens and create such a masterpiece which showcases empathy and raises various moral qualms.

The blackness scale in #Finkelstein5 really represents how society has forced people to look at themselves and their cultural heritage. While the scale shown is definitely extreme, the concept of it is not new, and is something that many minorities can relate to. #muddybuddies

I think #Brenyah’s #Finkelstien5 does a great job, showcasing how anarchic society can become, as a result of racial discrimination and inequality. I think this short story really embodies the words:“Violence creates Violence” as it describes such gory scenes. #muddybuddies

In #TheBookstoreAtTheEndOfAmerica the author excellently describes the importance of books and literature in general. I think this ties in well to the work we did on our podcast explaining the importance of poetry…just another example why literature is important. #muddybuddies
