@peterrhague Eventually we will need international bodies for such projects as orbital rings which cross boundaries. Either it be evolved from the UN or a new organization.
@peterrhague My understanding is that employees are worked much longer hours than Apollo. One of family worked on the moon shot and talked of overtime just before a launch. However constant 80 to 100 hr weeks is excessive.
@peterrhague I suggest the OTA report on space and the National Commission on Space. Although both from the 80s, they give a good view of the parameters of go big vs smaller space program.
@NJHagens Space travel did give us a global view of the earth in 1968. The study of other planets and galaxies remind us how rare and precious earth really is.
@peterrhague She forgets that our seeing the earth from space influenced many in the environmental movement. Space exploration is a good reminder that we still need to take care of earth while we see what we can of the cosmos.
